Miami Beach Extra High Voltage Pumping and Circulating Plant

As a turnkey project in Miami Beach, MAC engineered, designed, built, installed and commissioned for service, a four-pump, 7,500 gallon pumping plant, successfully meeting the challenge of a hurricane prone location adjacent to Biscayne Bay across from Fisher Island. The plant pressurizes one 138KV and two 69KV underground transmission lines. It is elevated six feet above grade which required thirty-foot deep auger cast concrete pilings and steel I-beam support columns under the plant to withstand a 185 mph 3-second gust of wind There are cinder block walls on three sides to help protect against a storm surge. Over 100 analog and digital points are sent out over a fiber optic cable to a remote monitoring station.

Project

For installation on the edge of Biscayne Bay MAC designed and built a hurricane resistant pressurizing and circulating plant.

Unusual Site

Built on soft land MAC designed and built an elevated plant with deep-set concrete supports.

Installation

A complete turnkey project that included all equipment and installation.
